Welcome to Nozomi's spot for dumping her thoughts and rambles regarding the animanga series Shoujo Kakumei Utena. If you've seen this series, you'll know that parts of it are very confusing, unclear in meaning, and open to interpretation. These are just MY personal opinions concerning various events and characters in the series.

Please be warned that there are spoilers EVERYWHERE. Proceed with at your own risk if you haven't finished watching the TV series or seen the movie. Also be warned that I am NOT a big fan of Shiori, Touga, or Akio, so don't be surprised if you see some occasional bashing.

Version 3 features the princely Arisugawa Juri and her blushing bride the boy genius Kaoru Miki. The name of the layout, "Quel Scandale!" means "What a scandal!" in French. SKU is big on French, as am I. ^_~

[[ Wednesday, January 22, 2003 : Shiori- tv series vs. movie ]]

I realize now that, as much as I dislike her in both versions, I like Shiori from the TV series a HELL of a lot better.
She's stubborn, selfish, close-minded, and downright cruel at first. But at the end... she opens up and shows a side of herself that she doesn't show in the movie. She becomes more accepting, more willing to put the happiness of others before her own.
Which is why I forgive her, even if I don't like her. I can only blame her for so much... She DID cause Juri a great deal of pain, but some of that pain WAS caused without her knowing. And the way she seems to give herself a chance at seeing Juri more than just someone to be jealous of also redeems her a bit in my view.
